What's up Doc?

Bill:
* Crazy busy at work, but really loving it!!!
* Going crazy trying to plan the upcoming Navy Ball in October.
* Has applied to teach a Health Care Management Course at the local community college.
* Has all the ladies at work mad at him because he brings goodies to work all the time and they are all on diets!!! :)

Michelle:
* Still staying busy trying to entertain my three kids for the summer....can not wait for school to start.
* Did not get voted onto the PTA board, but I am actually kind of glad. I do plan to volunteer at the school where ever they can use my help.
* Finally feel like California is "Home".....it took me a while to feel like we were not just on a long Vacation.
* Have made some good friends and really enjoy having "Girls Night Out" every once in a while.

Hazen:
* Lost serveral teeth over the summer, but new ones are coming back in pretty quickly.
* Has done nothing but read this summer. He has read the entire Fablehaven series, the entire Percy Jackson series, the Candy Shop wars, and we have not found a new series that he is interested in, so he just keeps reading the same books over and over again.
* Getting very nervous for school to start. He is not sure if he will have a good teacher, or nice kids in his class so he is a little scared. I know he will do GREAT!!!
* Loves Swimming, Hiking, and did I mention yet that he loves to read!!! :)

Cayden:
* Also loves to go swimming and is getting so good at it.
* Taught himself how to ride his bike without training wheels this summer.
* Has also lost a few teeth this summer and two of them fell out while eating and he swallowed them....oops.
* Not so sure about 1st grade....he thinks it is going to be hard.

Canaleah:
* Finally got her potty trained this summer!!! Yipee!!!
* Has a new found love for staying in Hotels. We have been able to stay in several over the summer and she cries and cries when it is time to go home.
* Tells us almost every day that Santa Clause is bringing her a Pink DS (hand held video game) and a shopping cart full of food for Christmas. I sure hope Santa comes thru on that one or we will never hear the end of it.
* Surprises me all the time by using big words....she is going to be a smart one!!! Oh wait, she already is a smart one - we are in big trouble!!!

Summer fun with the Lawson's

* Two trips home to Utah...we sure do love and miss everyone back home!!!
* San Diego Zoo (Twice) - We found it was only $4 more to get a season pass, so I know we will be going lots more!!!
* Sea World...Military families get into the park for free once a year - we had a great time!!!
* Disneyland.....must we say more!!! We have gone more times than we can count.
* Newport Beach - this brought back lots of memories for me as a child. I even got to chase the kids around with seaweed like my dad did to me!!! :)
*Long Beach....we did not get a chance to actually play in the water because it was too cold. But we stayed the night on the Queen Mary. This is an old cruise ship built in the 1930's and then later used in WWII to transport soldiers. We had a great time, but it smelled like Grandma's basement!!
* Pacific Palm Resort in L.A. - Beautiful resort that sits on an amazing golf course. I could have stayed there forever.
* Many, many, many trips to the local swimming pool and water park in Palm Springs.
* The Navy Corpsman Ball in Las Vegas....I love to dress up and have a night out on the town, and Bill looks super HOT in his Dress Whites!!!
* And....before school start in two weeks, we have another trip planned to San Diego to play at the beach, and a trip to the Wild Animal Kingdom.

10 things we love about the Desert.....

1 - No Mosquitoes.

2- Cactus really are beautiful and the flowers on them in the spring are awesome.

3 - We never get cold....not yet anyway!!

4 - The mountains are very different from Utah, but very beautiful in their own way.

5 - Close enough to the beach that we can escape the heat for the day.

6 - We can see the stars at night better than I have ever been able to. We love to lye on the trampoline and look at the stars.

7- We get to bar-b-que a lot....we love to cook and eat outside.

8- Very little grass to mow.

9- People want to come visit us. :)

10 - Now, where ever we get stationed next, will seem like paradise!!!!
